I feel kinda gross right now...sore throat (though all the coffee I've been drinking has been helping that a LOT) and kinda sore, but: I DON'T CARE. Because tonight is pie and KTV with Mike, Marie, Steph, and Gladys! YAY-HAY-HAAYYYYY! It's going to be MUCH fun, I know it. To play it safe, I'll avoid booze tonight and stick to the coffee drinks. Shall tonight be the night I finally try KTV's (in)famous crackaccino? (So named by Steph! lol) Well, we'll see! I've been wanting to try this for awhile now. And seeing as I've already started my day with several coffees (and I'm about to have MORE!), and no breakfast (yikes, gotta fix that!), why not? Also, coffee drinks go good with pie. Oh yes, piiiiieeeee! Here's hoping the cafe we're going to has at least one pie that doesn't have traces of nuts. I've been avoiding pasteries in general because my allergies seem to have gotten worse, which is fucking scary considering it's a potentially fatal allergy...I hope their pies are OK! I can't recall the last time I've eaten pie, and spending the night in the ER does NOT sound very pleasing to me at all, grrrrs...given how common nut (and peanut) allergies are these days, I am absolutely baffled as to why more restaurants/cafes/etc. don't take more lengths in avoiding using them. More places should have nut-free options. It's not difficult, people. It's a matter of life or death! Gahhh.

Tomorrow night is Steph's birthday AND birthday party, so YAYYYY!! Can't wait for that. THAT's when the booze shall start to flow, whether I'm sick or not, lol

Then Sunday I'm volunteering at Bain St-Michel (where Mike usually works) as they're having a poker night. (Oh weird, as I'm writing this, Lady Gaga's Poker Face is playing! lol) Mike, Tali and I are all going to volunteer as bartenders. We get to dress up in black & white, it's gonna be awesome! :)

CRAP CRAP CRAP!! I saw this post and read what you said about bartending at Bain St. Michel (which, btw, I keep calling Bain Magique in my head, lol)... I thought to myself, "Oh, I guess they are doing a fundraising poker night after the strike the set of Mike's show!" Then I went onto FB to get the address of the location while I thought of it and saw... THAT IT CLOSED LAST WEEKEND!!! Crap, I'm so mad! I've been so busy that I am getting dates confused! Tell Mike that I am SO SORRY!! I thought both shows that I planned to see wre closing this weekend, but obviously I was wrong! I just wrote about going to see the show in my LJ about an hour ago too!
I also missed Oklahoma at Abbott which I had been completely planning on seeing...
I suck.

Awww, don't worry about it! You *did* miss a very good show though. It was honestly the best play (not counting musicals, of course) that I've ever seen!

As for Oklahoma...blaaaaah. I was extremely bored and it was very, very long. The songs are lackluster and the plot is boring. JA puts on a great performance (for the most part) but the play itself is really, really boring. There are SO many better musicals out there, no wonder this show never tours. :P

I just hate not doing things that I said I would, you know? You'll have to give your fiancé some extra good lovin for me this weekend to make up for it! ;-)

I saw the St. Barnabas production of Oklahoma about 11 years ago - I thought it was pretty good! Although it WAS 11 years ago, maybe I'm remembering wrong. I *think* the last Abbott production I saw was "Urinetown". It was OK, but the problem was that I'd seen McGill's version like maybe 2 months prior (didn't you guys come with us to that?), and THAT was kick ass! Abbott's version seemed so much weaker by comparison...

OMG Urinetown!!! Yup we were there with you for that one (the McGill version). I had no idea JA did it too! I loooooved JA's production of Fiddler on the Roof, which was in May 2010. I was absolutely blown away. They did a really good version of Oklahoma! imho, but a couple of the actors were rather weak, and there was quite a few things they could have made a lot better, directing-wise. But overall it was pretty well-done, I'd say. I just didn't like the story or music.

McGill is reaalllllly hit-or-miss, if you ask me. There's AWESOME stuff they've put together, like Urinetown, of course, and then there's stuff like Little Shop of Horrors...I will sum up my experience with that show by pointing out how I saw the arms of the person controlling the plant. Yeeeeah. LOL

COFFEEEEE!!! Nyaaaaah!

Last time I went to the pie place, I had an oreo type pie, to be on the safe side and I was fine. :) Worst comes to worst, I think they have other baked goods as well, so I'm sure you can find something! Oh, and of course more COFFEEEEE.

YAYZ! Yeah, Oreo flavour sounds safe. :) Whenever I have cake at Broadway Cheesecake I've always been OK (and they have an Oreo cake, though I can't remember if I've tried it!), so hopefully the Forum's pies will be similar in safety. XD

And NO! There can be no other baked goods! I only want PIE!!!
