OK, the malware/spyware/virus/whatever is SPREADING. I am desperate. I wrote this on Facebook but I'll put it up here too: free booze for anyone who can come over here and fix this. And I don't mean a single bottle of beer or something equally useless. Nope. I will get you shitfaced drunk. For free. All ya gotta do is come here and take this shit off my laptop and make my poor computer OK again. :(
And if you're a straight-edger, then I'll feed you instead.

Omfg I am desperate. I've had a horrid past couple of weeks, the last thing I need is to lose my computer, too.

I wish I knew how to help! I just don't know anything about PCs and viruses. My husband uses Malwarebytes to scan for things, but maybe it's too late for that.

Unfortunately, it's gone. ;-; I am hoping my ex (who is quite computer-savvy to put it mildly and actually fixes computers in his spare time) can salvage something...tho it seems like we're gonna have to buy a new hard drive. :(

I'm planning on getting a Mac notebook soon so we'll see how that works! Apparently Mac products can't get viruses, or so I've been told (repeatedly). XD

Viruses DO exist, but they are much, much more rare. I've been using Macs my entire life (back to elementary school!) and have never come across one, for example. I think it's harder for them, because you have to type in a password manually to install anything, whereas it's much more insidious on a PC where a virus will just go install itself without notice.

Ohhhh, so THAT'S how it works! I've always wondered why Macs were (more or less) immune. Now I know! :)
