Well, the new school year starts tomorrow. It's 3 pm right now, and I'm still unemployed. Hurray!

In other news, I'm going to go check out Olympia tonight, for the wedding. At this point I don't even want to go, I have my heart set on The Other Place. But I'll go just to humor everyone else. Unless they can absolutely blow my mind there, but uhhh...given what the other place is like, I'm pretty frakking certain I'm going to say no to this place. ;)

Also: The Lion King, followed by a mini camping trip! Both awesome things are coming up soon. Not this weekend, but the next. The long weekend, of course. I can't wait! :D

Yeah, it was. ;_; And today is the first day of the school year and here I am at home, siting on my couch in my PJ's having breakfast & coffee at 1:41 PM. I have mixed feelings about this!

Nope! BUT, I'm currently making more on unemployment than I was in my first year of teaching (which was only part-time, mind you, but STILL), so go figure. XD

But, no insurance isn't that big a deal in Canada, right? Unless you have a bunch of ailments that you need expensive prescription drugs for, right?

I've been without insurance a bunch of times in my life, but it's not like we need to worry about paying hospital bills in this country, if anything terrible were to happen to us!

I'm taking quite a few prescription meds--the last 2 I bought (Effexor, which is an SNRI, and Anaprox, which is a pain killer for that time of the month) would usually cost me $5 with insurance. Now they cost me $45 each. o_O Then there's my migraine pills which luckily I don't have to buy very often as I don't need to take them very often--only in dire emergencies--and WITH insurance they cost nearly $50. Luckily I bought some just before my insurance ran out 'cause I'm terrified to find out how much they're going to cost WITHOUT insurance! :S

Fair enough.

Keep in mind that there is a prescription drug plan for people without insurance in Quebec though, too! Like, whatever you end up paying for your meds without work insurance (if it comes to that, but hopefully not!) will still be discounted. The law in Quebec says that you have to belong to some kind of drug insurance plan - if you don't have one through work or (as a student) school, then you have to belong to the public one. Pretty sure that it means an extra $300 or so that you have to pay at tax time each year you're on it, but it does lower the cost of prescriptions from just the sticker price.
