Motherfrakking TV commercials! I love them. And I love to hate them. What I love about them is the strategy involved in creating them. Making a TV commercial (or any commercial, really) involves good marketing skills. Marketing skills are made with the perfect balance of art and psychology. I love art and I love psychology!

So for those of you who watch TV: what TV commercials do you really like? Which ones do you really hate? Most importantly, WHY?

Other than the "20 people under 20" ad with the baby sea turtles, I can't think of a TV commercial I really like right off the top of my head (there are plenty; I'm just drawing a blank, lol) but the TV commercials I hate the most right now are the ones for Ford with the really LOUD piano playing and super quick cuts of people jizzing themselves over talking quickly about their cars, and even worse, those needlessly CGI-animated IGA commercials. (Oooh! RAGE!)

I'll expand on my answers a little later; I'm just taking a quick break from my stupid exam writing atm and I gotta get back to it. :/

I'll be back!

I'm partial to ads like these that ran during the NHL playoffs:

Of course, making emotions out of hockey is easy for hockey fans.

OMG. When I clicked on those videos, I WAS ABLE TO WATCH THEM. At first, I didn't realize, and then it suddenly hit me, holy shit, my computer is playing sound. AND video. AND at the same time. OMG, has my computer finally fixed itself?! :O

My all time favourite commercial from 1966 in glorious black and white. I had never seen such a creative commercial before. It changed the industry. More than forty years later, I still remember it.
