I think I'm in love: Paging all protesters: Page protests Harper government on Senate floor

21 years old and already kicking ass! Go girl go! <3

Mike and I will be leaving soon to take his parents out for brunch at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. It's for each of their birthdays and anniversary; those three dates all fall within weeks of each other so it's a combined thing. :)

I went to an awesome outdoor potluck in NDG yesterday. I had so much fun! It was organized by the cast of the last show Mike did. Everyone was just lovely. I love, love, LOVE that kind of crowd...people in their 40s and 50s, theater people specifically, who like to sit around and have a pot luck or BBQ where we actually have pleasant conversations, as opposed to crazy-ass party people who want to do nothing but take two billion photos and outdrink each other. Don't get me wrong--we ALL need to get trashed every once in awhile and get WILD (those of you on my Facebook might have seen my last status about how damn CRAZY I want my bachlorette party to be!), but every damn weekend? Ugh, no thanks. I love having intelligent conversation with people in a backyard, everyone all relaxed, getting to meet people and learn about their jobs, their interests, their lives. SCREAMING above loud music in a bar that smells like vomit while people climb onto tables? Once in awhile, please. I'm not 22 anymore! (And I LOVE IT). <3

Btw, I hope this post doesn't sound pretentious! I don't think any less of people who like to party like crazy every weekend, not at ALL! (Why would I?) There ain't anything wrong with that; you only live once, so party the way you love best! I'm just saying it's no longer MY cup of tea, is all. ;P

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. All this page has managed to is get herself fired and get some attention on herself. People who hate Harper will continue to hate Harper, and people who like him aren't about to have their minds changed by someone who holds up a "Stop Harper" sign.

Even if you read her press release (and most people didn't bother before calling her a hero), there's very little there that's persuasive. Calling for an "Arab spring" in Canada is ridiculous on its face - most democracy activists in Arab countries would be perfectly satisfied with Canadian-style democracy.

Brigette dePape didn't like the result of the May 2 election, so she decided to try to disrupt a major event. In the process, she further divides Canada between those who hate the left and those who hate the right.

You won't convince me until you hold that sentence up in sign form in front of the prime minister.

I think pot lucks are way cooler than crazy parties. But then, I'm 24 (well, in a week) and I'm already planning my retirement!

Absolutely! Well, we all 'mature' at different ages, but I am so, so, SO glad that I am past that point in my life where image was OMG SO IMPORTANT and everything was a competition whether I realized it or not, and that constant urge to impress people that so many 20-somethings have...well to be honest there's plenty of 30-somethings who are still like that....ahhhhh, I am *so* glad that's all done and over with! The worst is, you don't (can't?) even notice you're in that stage until you've grown out of it and can look back at yourself and go, "holy crap I was insecure back then!"

I kinda think she's hot. That stern expression. Those braids. Ooooh, she could tell me to do some things, yeah.

Ewwww. I find the braids make her look like a grown woman doing age-play. :/

She's 21 Marina. To people our age, she's a child. :p

I definitely, totally don't think 21 is a child. :/
