Hey! Turns out that old e-mail addy of mine IS still working, and turns out that LJ notifications are still being sent there! (Omg, there's several YEARS' worth, lol.) Anyway, this means I have a copy of the conversation James & I had, so I'm copy & pasting it here...mostly for Marie's sake (and my own memories!), but [livejournal.com profile] rilms mentioned wanting to read it too, I think?!
Anyway, for those who are interested, it's here now to stay, without the danger of a grudgey individual deleting it in a butthurt tantrum. ;)

(But a little heads-up...unless you frequent [livejournal.com profile] montreal extremely regularly, you probably won't pick up on what James and I are poking fun at.)

So, it started off with [livejournal.com profile] sourdick responding to this post, which was one of those generic "i have x to get rid of, who wants it for free?" although x in this case was just...a bunch of binders. So James spiced things up a bit by replying with something along the lines of, “I have a stack of loose leaf papers in my closet left over from 2002, anyone want it?” to which the following conversation happened:

bee_york:
LMAO, omg

sourdick:
Serious enquiries only, please.

bee_york:
Well, I WAS interested, but since you told me about the coffee stain on the first 2 pages, I had to change my mind. :(
(I had messaged him on MSN about the paper, and he told me that there was a coffee stain on the first 2 pages)

sourdick:
Can you pick them up in the Plateau? You must promise to recycle them, somehow use them in an avant-guard art project, or compost them and grow blueberries for poor welfare drug-addicts.
I will use the spare space in my brick-walled flat to expand my energies into helping solve hunger, and complaining about Prime Minister Harper.

bee_york:
I will pick them up in the Plateau because I AM in the Plateau, so there! Also, I will use the loose leaf in ANY way I see fit, which will probably be to make posters to raise awareness of the evil of billboards and how they ruin our lives.

Also I don't know why you have to be so sarcastic, OMG. You're so angry and SOUR. You TOTALLY live up to your username!

sourdick:
Speaking of billboards, maybe I could take YOU out for some coffee sometime, sweet-thing. (fair-trade, of COURSE)

bee_york:
The best thing about fair-trade coffee is that it's FAIR-TRADE. :D

sourdick:
Yes, great, do you know where I can get coffee, hand-delivered, in a ceramic cup, on the Orange Line, with two (organic) milks, and two (organic) sugars, for cheap? I cant spend more than a quarter, as I am on a tight budget this month. Much appreciated.

bee_york:
Hmmm, I think I might know where, but it's on the Green Line. :( Would you be able to transfer lines at Lionel-Groulx or Berri-UQAM?

sourdick:
'Fraid not. I dont know what times the metros pass, and even though I could easily find out with minimal effort in 30 seconds, Im going to ask you if you could possibly look up their schedule, opening hours, phone numbers, website address, parking restrictions, handicap accessibility, and the name of the manager on duty at the time I will go there (you will have to predict what time I will go there at)

bee_york:
James, you have made my night. <3

See how innocent that was?! ;p

Looks like I missed a good one on the Montreal community!

You guys would have had bonus points if The ?Entire Post had random Inappropriately placed caPital letters lol lol lol. Cause the person who posts like that is my favourite one to troll.

Oh oh oh!! Who does that? I'm trying to think of who that can be but no one comes to mind.

I'm not going to spoil the fun. Just keep an eye open. She posts at least once a week with a stupid Where Can I fInd the MuNtreal questions, it shouldn't take you too long to pinpoint the culprit. I think James knows who I'm talking about. Josh definitely does.

I just skimmed through the comm and I honestly can't figure out who it is you're talking about! The only person who I can think of that posts THAT often, with those kinds of questions, is (of course) destine1983. While her typing certainly leaves much to be desired, and she *does* add the random capital here and there, it's not the same type of random tYpIng like you described.

I thought of kaylla and misskitty, 'cause they post a lot too, but I haven't noticed anything odd about their typing skills either.

I'm hard-pressed to think of who else it can be!

destine1983? Really? Haha, her typing really isn't that bad. At least she uses the shift key! :P It's a pet peeve of mine when people don't use it EVER and they type like i am typing now, and make the effort to use proper punctuation and proper spelling (no abbreviations) so it's not like they're in a hurry. i don't understand why they do that! i can understand being in a hurry (like on chat) or saying idgaf 'cuz it's the internet k thnx, but then why would u spell and punctuate everything properly and *only* not use capitals? whyyyyy?
THIS KEEPS ME AWAKE AT NIGHT.

....what were we talking about again?
