Another moment of surreality
Nov. 15th, 2010 10:03 pmI ran into Terry Kinney today. He's the actor who played McManus on Oz. Considering how chatty I tend to get when I have the chance to meet an actor I really like or admire, I was, and still am, kinda shocked at how little I felt like talking to him. I looked at him, he looked at me, I walked on...that was pretty much it.
I have to say, I was pretty surprised to see him. It was whilst cutting through the set of Being Human to get home. They've set up camp at the park down the street from my apartment. It kind of depresses me how uninspired I've been to go looking for Jacob! I'm just so fracking tired on my way home from school that I pass by the trailers and I just don't care. :/ This isn't like me! I have to go back with
oo_maya_oo, that will be a LOT more fun. There will actually be a point to hanging around, as we'll be hanging out together. ;)
Oh yeah, and while I'm on the subject: Oz is an awesome show. And that is an understatement. If you've never watched it you have NO IDEA the epic awesomeness you are missing out on. The ONLY shows that I think are better than Oz are Lost and BSG. Yup. That's hardcore awesome.

Maybe you were sub-consciously afraid that he'd snap at you like he did on the show oh so maybe times.

Date: 2010-11-18 03:36 pm (UTC)Better to have too much than not enough which is my problem right now. I did find one gem this season though: Terriers! It's about a pair of funny, slightly unethical PI's in San Diego and while the first couple episodes seemed a bit off, the acting and writing has shone through. Eleven episodes so far and it's currently battling low ratings and cancellation.

The last season is like...they didn't put any effort into it at all, but the first season so far is frakking BRILLIANT. There's been many scenes that have made me laugh to the point of tears. Gob especially...omg. He's fucking hilarious!
I'm somewhere in the first 10 episodes atm. I didn't recognize either of your references, so I guess I haven't reached that part of the series yet.

Date: 2010-11-16 05:48 pm (UTC)And I'm crappy with names - which one was McManus again? Also, have you seen the Allstate commercials with the guy from Oz in them? Again, i forget his name, but he had a brother in jail with him. Dark haired guy, good looking, but not a very good actor, lol...

Date: 2010-11-18 12:08 am (UTC)McManus was the guy who ran Emerald City. I always thought he was such an interesting character because he always tried so hard to be a good guy but always ended up being an asshole.
And YES, I've seen those Allstate commercials! That's Dean Winters on them. He played Ryan 'O Reilly. Good-looking is an understatement! ;)
