I ran into Terry Kinney today. He's the actor who played McManus on Oz. Considering how chatty I tend to get when I have the chance to meet an actor I really like or admire, I was, and still am, kinda shocked at how little I felt like talking to him. I looked at him, he looked at me, I walked on...that was pretty much it.

I have to say, I was pretty surprised to see him. It was whilst cutting through the set of Being Human to get home. They've set up camp at the park down the street from my apartment. It kind of depresses me how uninspired I've been to go looking for Jacob! I'm just so fracking tired on my way home from school that I pass by the trailers and I just don't care. :/ This isn't like me! I have to go back with [livejournal.com profile] oo_maya_oo, that will be a LOT more fun. There will actually be a point to hanging around, as we'll be hanging out together. ;)

Oh yeah, and while I'm on the subject: Oz is an awesome show. And that is an understatement. If you've never watched it you have NO IDEA the epic awesomeness you are missing out on. The ONLY shows that I think are better than Oz are Lost and BSG. Yup. That's hardcore awesome.

The Wire deserves a place there too once you watch it.

Maybe you were sub-consciously afraid that he'd snap at you like he did on the show oh so maybe times.

Damn! I'm excited to watch The Wire. But I'm watching Doctor Who, Twin Peaks, Arrested Development, AND How I Met Your Mother right now, so I don't have time for another series atm, sadly! There's soooooo much I wanna see! SO much to watch, so little time. ;)

Yay for Arrested Development! How are you liking it so far? It has to be the funniest, well written shows I've seen and it has a special place in my TV watching heart. I can find a show funny and enjoyable without laughing out loud, but this show had me ROFLing and they did a wonderful job playing out cultural references. The Iraq story-arc is awesome! My most two most favourite scenes are (and I'll be vague just in case) 1) dove on counter and an awkward hug and 2) "I blue myself".

Better to have too much than not enough which is my problem right now. I did find one gem this season though: Terriers! It's about a pair of funny, slightly unethical PI's in San Diego and while the first couple episodes seemed a bit off, the acting and writing has shone through. Eleven episodes so far and it's currently battling low ratings and cancellation.

When Arrested Development was on TV, I started watching the last season and couldn't figure out why everyone loved it so much. Now that I'm watching it from the first season, I totally get it. (I should have realized on my own that I should have started from the FIRST season, duh!)

Anyway, yeah. So now I totally get why people like it so much. The last season is like...they didn't put any effort into it at all, but the first season so far is frakking BRILLIANT. There's been many scenes that have made me laugh to the point of tears. Gob especially...omg. He's fucking hilarious!
I'm somewhere in the first 10 episodes atm. I didn't recognize either of your references, so I guess I haven't reached that part of the series yet.

Yup, Oz was all sorts of awesome. I'm going to have to look up the last few seasons though - near the end of it's run, I couldn't find it ANYWHERE on tv...

And I'm crappy with names - which one was McManus again? Also, have you seen the Allstate commercials with the guy from Oz in them? Again, i forget his name, but he had a brother in jail with him. Dark haired guy, good looking, but not a very good actor, lol...

I remember that you're a fellow Oz fan, but I forgot the fact you never saw the end! OMG! You must get a hold of that! Must must MUST!

McManus was the guy who ran Emerald City. I always thought he was such an interesting character because he always tried so hard to be a good guy but always ended up being an asshole.

And YES, I've seen those Allstate commercials! That's Dean Winters on them. He played Ryan 'O Reilly. Good-looking is an understatement! ;)
