I once made a list of my favourite fictional couples and then asked who YOUR favourite fictional couples were. Now I wanna know who your favourite fictional characters are! Of ALL TIME.

Here's my top ten. :)

10. Mr. Spock (Star Trek)

I love vulcans, and he's my favourite, even if he's really only half-vulcan. ;) But honestly, do I really need to explain why Spock is even on this list?!

9. Simon Adebisi (Oz)

Part of the reason I fangirl over Mr. Eko so much is because he's played by the same actor who plays one of the most fucked-up lunatics I have ever seen in any TV show EVER, Simon Adebisi. He's in prison for decapitating a guy (with a knife), and while in prison he does a BUNCH of fucked-up stuff, such as secretly jabbing an adversary with an AIDS-infected needle. Good times.

8. Han Solo (Star Wars)

I LOVE YOU, HAN SOLO. <3 <3 <3

7. Kramer (Seinfeld)

I wish he was my friend in real life so that we could hang out and get in crazy adventures. Every single episode he does at least one thing that makes me LOL ridiculously. Omg. He is *so* messed-up, hahahaha. I couldn't possibly narrow down a favourite Kramer moment. A favourite forty moments, maybe.

6. Benjamin Linus (Lost)

Do I seriously need to explain this one? :P

5. Arnold Rimmer (Red Dwarf)

I could write a book about this guy. He's got to be one of the best-written characters I've seen in any show or movie or anything, EVER. He's just so totally neurotic, so completely obsessive-compulsive and wonderfully fucked-up. If you've ever watched Red Dwarf, then you understand the LOVE. If you've never seen Red Dwarf, there's your viewing assignment for the summer.

4. Kara Thrace/Starbuck (Battlestar Galactica)

THIS WOMAN, OMG. It was love at first sight for me. She had me from the VERY first scene of the mini-series, when she punches Colonel Tigh. OMG YES. This lady doesn't take shit from anyone. I've dressed up as her 3 times (once for my BSG party, once for Halloween, and once for the BSG finale) and I wanna do it again. I love her. LOOOOOVE HERRRRRRR. I don't have the words. Omg GHGSHGHGSHGAJDGJHDHJDJHJHSGFJ
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3

3. Elaine Benes (Seinfeld)

As awesome as Starbuck is, she still takes backseat to Elaine. Elaine has got to be the craziest bitch on television. Seriously, who could *possibly* top her in bitchyness and lack of sanity? For some reason, crazy characters really seem to do it for me, and Elaine is a complete and utter loon. She's hilarious. I think a big part of what makes her so nuts is that she truly believes that she's a good person. Anyway, she makes me laugh and I love her.

2. Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon)

I don't know how to put into words my love for this girl, so I'll just say this--I'm nearly 30 years old, and to this day, I very often still think to myself "What would Usagi do?" I swear to you all that I actually do this. What can I say? She's quite a remarkable person with the most amazingly sweet personality, and it would take a lot to top her. <3

1. Gaius Baltar (Battlestar Galactica)

Pretty much the *only* fictional character who can top Usagi Tsukino. Why Baltar? A lot of people hate him, and I love him so, so, so, so, so much. I love him on multiple levels. Where do I even start?!
Okay. For one, I love him from a writer's point of view, because he's such an amazingly well-written character. He acts so much like a real person. On a lot of shows, you get the heroic-type of characters that a lot of people would like to picture themselves as being if they were in that situation, in the universe of that particular show or movie. Like, I dunno, maybe some people like to think they could be Apollo. But in reality they would probably end up being like Baltar.
Like OK...you know when people say, "If Star Trek is how we aspire to be, then Red Dwarf is the reality"? Well, in that same way, if (insert some heroic character) is how we aspire to be, then Gaius Baltar is the reality. Honestly, he is just so HUMAN. He ends up being hated by so many people by doing what he believes to be the right thing. He just keeps digging himself deeper and deeper and gets blamed for doing things that anyone else in his position would have done.
Sure, he's not perfect, and, needless to say, he's been an asshole plenty of times. He also fancies himself as martyr, and he tends to whine when he talks.
He's a coward, and he can be extremely selfish. But it's human to have flaws! Everyone can be a coward sometimes. Everyone has their moments of being selfish. I think this is true, whether people can admit to it or not.
Or...I don't know. Maybe the fact that I find him so realistic and can relate to him is a bad thing. Maybe that means I'm an asshole! :S I hope not! lol
Anyway, whatever. I love him.

Also, on a more shallow level...I don't really find him attractive, but he's got some damn good sex scenes, frack yeah! ahhdghagdhghjhdgghd

Soooo, that's my top ten. I'd love to know who your top ten are, or top 5, or whatever. It doesn't need to be in order.
Or even just 1 or 2 fictional characters who you really love!

Also! I'm going to do an honorable mention:

Link (The Legend of Zelda)

Yeah, I chose him as honorable mention because he's a video game character and he DOESN'T TALK. (No the cartoon version of him does not count, I have refused to consider that goofy abomination as canon even as a kid!) But I have to list him here for 2 reasons:
1) He was pretty much my first real crush as a kid;
2) The Legend of Zelda has always been a life-long obsession with me and YES, it comes before Lost (which is saying a LOT). I am aiming for a Zelda wedding cake and hopefully eventually getting a Zelda tattoo, so if that doesn't illustrate my obsession with the enchanted little universe that is Hyrule, I don't know what else could!
