You guys don't understand how hard I was lol'ing at this. To the point of tears! I was just giggling non-stop at it. OMG. I am so happy I don't fit the profile of ANY of those types, not even close.
No, I'm an Annoying Lost Fan. Our kind get our own video, which I'll post a link to later. (Spoilers: VERY FUNNY.)

I slept for 12 hours last night, I am SO GLAD! To say I needed that...well, that's putting it ridiculously mildly. I feel much better than I do last night. Still a scratchy throat and I'm kind of headache-y and woozy, but nowhere near as bad as last night.

I have quite a craving to play Nintendo, but I still have an intimidating amount of LESSON-PLANNING staring down at me. Yuck. :( On the subject, does anyone here have their Wii hooked up to the internet? Specifically on a wireless connection? Because I did that last week and although it said it connected successfully, I'm having nothing but problems.

Mine's connected on wireless, what issues are you having with yours?

Also, you wouldn't happen to play animal crossing, would you? 8)

Holy shit, where did you come from?!?!?! You're back on LJ???? OMFG. Nice to see you. :) :) :)

When I try to go on the Wii shopping network, it tells me I need to update my Wii first. If I go to update my Wii, it won't let me, it keeps giving me an error code. I looked up the error code on the website they linked me to (Nintendo's customer service website) but omg @ all the different things they tell me to do. It would be so much easier if it just worked, lol. I'll eventually get to what they advised, but I need to find all my wireless info first and I have no idea where that is, sigh.

And no, I don't play Animal Crossing.

lolololol I love you.

Actually it wasn't that complicated, maybe it is, I dunno, I didn't even start on it yet. It's just that I have to find my wireless internet info, wherever the hell I put it...
I didn't ask about the Wii so much as to get advice, I was just wondering if problems with Wii & wireless were common in general. I know I didn't make that very clear though, hehe.

Hmmm well I've seen other people have the same kind of problem and while I don't know why it does this, there's usually this thing going on :

Some of the nintendo channels ask your Wii for its system version. Then it replies with the version, the channel tries to start the download, and your router goes NO SCREW THIS, and then the request times out and the error pops up.

The internet-aware games work fine because they include system updates on disc when it's needed that a particular system version be installed, in case someone doesn't have the internet at all.

The easiest way to fix this that I've seen work is to rent a game that has the latest firmware version on it. I am not sure which other games have it but New Super Mario Bros. has at least firmware 4.1. I'd disable the network connection first and just let it do its update. Anyway try it and let me know. :)

Aw shame for Animal Crossing, we've got a little fruit trafficking network going on. heheheh.

Hey cool, thanks for the advice! I pretty much only want my Wii connected to the net for shopping channel and not much else--I just wanna download a bunch of old 8-bit games. ;) But I'm sure once I see all my other options I'll start getting a little greedy, lol.

I don't even know what Animal Crossing is, but a fruit trafficking network? Gods that sounds simply *adourable*. Don't tempt me!!! :P
