I'm trying to cheer myself up best I can--with LOST! And I just read this awesome observation on some chick's journal about a wonderful paradox (y'all know how much I love my paradoxes!) in The Constant.
Remember those numbers (the coordinates!) that Daniel Faraday gives Desmond to give back to him (Faraday)? Well, the coordinates don't have a time in which they start existing. For serious. Check this shit out (I'm gonna copy & paste from her LJ):

In schematic form:
-> 2004!Dan gives the numbers to 2004!Des
-> 2004!Des "gives" the numbers to 1996!Des
-> 1996!Des tells 1996!Dan the numbers
-> Dan loses his memory, goes to the island 8 years later
-> 2004!Dan gives the numbers to 2004!Des.

As the OP says, where do the numbers come from?
Where do they come into existence?
I LOVE this kind of stuff, omg. <3

It's like with Alpert telling Locke that he had to be the new leader...because Locke told Alpert that he was going to say it! Nyagh I wish I was back home with my own computer and able to go online and have proper discussions! Is there going to be some sort of rewatching of the S5 finale? We can host if it's just you and your bf, but our place is too small and lacking in couches to make it a proper party. :(

YES, THIS!

As for S5 of Lost, apparently they're re-running it on SPACE the second week of January, so I'm gonna be all over that. I would LOVE to have another Lost party, but I absolutely cannot hold it here. or maybe I can, lol. But if I have another one, it might be elsewhere, like at the bar I had my BSG-themed party for my birthday last year. It's called Fatz and you just rent this little room there by the hour and they have a DVD set and HUGE-ASS TV that we could totally watch Lost on and make as much noise as we want, not like in my apartment where I can't even sneeze without threats of being taken to court, lol.

I've watched that episode over a dozen times and I don't think there's a paradox there. I think he either already knew the frequency that Desmond gave him or he was going to discover it soon after.

Really? It's totally possible that he already knew the numbers, but we don't know that for sure. Either way, I'm sure it doesn't mean anything, but I am OBSESSED with time paradoxes so I'm very biased FOR the idea. ;)
