Paradox in The Constant
Dec. 29th, 2009 12:59 pmI'm trying to cheer myself up best I can--with LOST! And I just read this awesome observation on some chick's journal about a wonderful paradox (y'all know how much I love my paradoxes!) in The Constant.
Remember those numbers (the coordinates!) that Daniel Faraday gives Desmond to give back to him (Faraday)? Well, the coordinates don't have a time in which they start existing. For serious. Check this shit out (I'm gonna copy & paste from her LJ):
In schematic form:
-> 2004!Dan gives the numbers to 2004!Des
-> 2004!Des "gives" the numbers to 1996!Des
-> 1996!Des tells 1996!Dan the numbers
-> Dan loses his memory, goes to the island 8 years later
-> 2004!Dan gives the numbers to 2004!Des.
As the OP says, where do the numbers come from?
Where do they come into existence?
I LOVE this kind of stuff, omg. <3
