The good news from last week :)
Sep. 16th, 2011 12:38 pmOMG, so excited! Tonight is the QDF Calendar Launch, and Tristan is going to be MC-ing. I can't wait to see what he does. The good news I mentioned last week-->that's actually directly related. This is what happened:
Mike and I don't want some cookie-cutter MC from a company who doesn't even know us to MC our wedding. We also don't want some random dude from city hall to marry us. We want someone who knows us, and someone who's FUNNY. Mike got the idea of getting Tristan to marry us, I thought it was an awesome idea but didn't know if he would agree to it. Tristan is a local actor who's worked with Mike many times and who's had supper here a few times. He's so sweet, funny, witty, kind, talented, and all-around awesome. (And yes, he's the same Tristan who had the unfortunate and disgusting experience at Saint-Sulpice I talked about here.)
Anyway, last week at the SHIFT launch, Mike and I finally talked to Tristan about wanting him to marry us and MC our wedding, and he said YES! :D We'll get him ordained and he's gonna be the bestest marry-er and MC everrrrrrr. In fact, it turns out he's actually already getting ordained so he could marry ANOTHER friend of his. HA! What are the chances?! That's the thing about weddings. No matter how unique your idea seems, it's been done before. Usually several million times, too. ;) Anyway, I am so excited and happy about this. Tonight we get to see him actually MC something, so this is oddly coincidental timing.
So yay, there's some awesome news! Last week, we also went to check out the Olympic Tower for our wedding. Yup, there's a reception hall up there and they rent it out for weddings and other events. It's in our price range IF we can get a cheap enough caterer. That's what we're working on right now. 'Cuz if we could get the Olympic Tower...OMG. I thought it was a cool idea to begin with, but when we got taken up to the top via cable car elevator (how amazing would it be to bring a bridal party up in THAT?!) I just fell in love. I'm ready to sacrifice a lot to get this place! <3
