I've been up since 5 AM 'cuz I couldn't sleep. Ugghhh...o_o At least I got a lot of stuff done re: applications. I can't remember if I ever wrote about this on here or not, but I've decided to go back to school and get my master's. :) It was a very last minute decision, but a friend of mine pointed out that now, while I'm not doing a contract, is the PERFECT time to do it. She is sooo right. As soon as she pointed that out, that very minute I went to the Concordia website and gathered the information I needed to apply for the winter semester (beginning January). It's been a long and rushed process as I've been running around gathering references and whatnot, but I'm almost done putting all that together which is good, as the applications are due on Thursday.
I ended up coming down with a cold on Thursday night, which I caught from Mike. I didn't end up sticking around
rilms' party for very long as a result, and I had to completely miss Candy's party, but at least I wasn't sick for camping! This cold has REALLY been going around, apparently. Damn end-of-summer colds. What a weird time for people to get sick. o_O
Tonight is Lost night! Tali, Mike and I all have a *LOT* to celebrate, so we're getting together tonight for wine & Lost. We're almost at season 3. I know I say this all the time, but it's SO WEIRD watching the entire series through a second time. So much foreshadowing, and so much bullshit. I'm not sure what there's more of. But who cares. It's Lost, it's AWESOME, and no matter how it ended doesn't change the fact that it's an amazing ride almost the whole way through. <3
Oh, I also went to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant last night. No one was impressed. I don't think any American or Brit should be allowed to come to Montreal and tell us how to run restaurants, because Montrealers are big snobby foodies and we have every right to be. ;P There's a lot of things I hate about this city, but our food is definitely NOT one of them. I've traveled all across the US & the UK, Israel, Japan, and Jamaica, and nowhere has the food even compared to ours (though Japan is a very, very close runner-up! lol). MONTREAL = BEST FOOD EVER. <3

Date: 2011-09-14 01:34 pm (UTC)Oh man, right now we're at the season 2 finale. (Well, it's the episodes we're watching next.) Ben just escaped. BEN. When he was finally introduced, I got SO EXCITED I was practically jumping up and down. Lost just isn't the same until Ben shows up. <3

Date: 2011-09-15 05:07 pm (UTC)And YAY about Oz! Thanks for the offer, but I'm slowly regaining the entire series on DVD (back in the day, I had it on VHS!!!) and I only have the first 3 seasons so far, but I'm buying the rest soon. It's too good a series to not own the whole thing...though I'm having a hard time justifying buying season 4 because it was so AWFUL, omg. XD <3

Date: 2011-09-16 12:53 am (UTC)Season 4 I love because it was short and they just moved at such a clip. Every episode moves the plot along. That's when the Island vanished and it has all my favourite episodes (like when Alex is shot). When it pulled the rug out from under you and did flashforwards- I just loved all of that.
Then probably Season 2- I don't get why people dislike it so much! I think because I watched them all on DVD it didn't feel stretched out or anything to me, I liked the hatch and the tail section as well.
The Season 5, it had a lot of great moments, loved the time-traveling, but I think some things started to come lose that season. Still, the FOOT and JACOB and Ben killing him was one of my favourite moments of the series. Oh, and Ben killing Locke. OMG I was devastated for weeks, el oh el.
Season 6: wtf.

Date: 2011-09-16 09:26 pm (UTC)I agree season 4 moved quickly, but I wasn't crazy about their storylines post-Island. That said, the *introduction* to the flashforwards--aka the giant twist at the end of the season 3 finale--is the single best twist I have ever seen in any form of media, ever. Pointe finale. M. Night Shayalamanananan WISHES he could write a twist like that. :)
And amen about season 2! Why do people dislike it?! The whole "should we push the button?!" is SUCH. GOOD. WRITING. That's fact, not opinion. ;) What a psychological mindfuck. How is it even POSSIBLE to be bored by that?!
