Of funerals and casinos
Aug. 27th, 2011 02:35 pmMike and I are currently watching Jack Layton's funeral and MST 3000-ing the fuck out of it. I love the guy SO much (hence my watching it) but this is too fun, and if you can't joke about death, I think life is just that much more difficult for you, ya know? I think seeing the humour in everything is an important thing.
I'm going to the casino tonight, it's been awhile! Then I may check out a house party that Drew made an open invite to. It depends how I feel later, as I've got cramps right now. Fucking never-ending period.
Last night Mike and I went out for supper at a cozy crazy lit-up brightly-coloured funky-looking french restaurant called Alexandre and then went for drinks on the terrace at Brutopia where we ran into the lovely
blacksquiggles and talked and drank and had a REALLY great time. What a sweetheart she is! I got pretty drunk and really wanted to drink a whole lot more but managed to discipline myself enough to stop. I think that's one of the major things about drinking in your 30s and why it's so much better than drinking in your 20s...you know exactly when to stop. You know your limits SO much better. Or I do, at least--I guess I shouldn't speak for anyone else, but I have a pretty strong feeling that's true for most people. ;)
