Reason #827 out of 100,000 why I love Mike so much--he says things that everyone is thinking but very few have the balls to admit. Mwahaha. I love it. I really, really respect people who say exactly what's on their mind (well, within reason/to an extent). I ought to do it more often. But I dunno. I think a lot of bitchy things! :/

I'm exhauuuusted. It's that time of the term again. REPORT CARDS. They're due Wednesday at noon. I'm *almost* done. I swear, I get closer and closer to having a full-blown anxiety attack every time. Every fucking time! Ugggggggh I hate putting these together sooooooooooooooooo much.
At least in 48 hours I'll be DONE (well, until the final report cards in June). And then 2 more days after that, it's EASTER VACATION!

Oh, and the Yuri Gagarin sci-fi/space-themed party I went to on Saturday ended up being *such* a let-down. :( I mean, it was cool, but it wasn't what I was expecting, and certainly was NOTHING as advertised, so thumbs-down from me. Oh well, at least I got to hang out with my friends, and dressing up as Rimmer was WAY fun. I'll have to use that costume again someday.

Sorry to hear the Yuri's Night party was not your cuppa. I'd be interested to hear about what you expected vs. what it turned out to be, as I may want to get involved in helping to organize it next year.

I was at a pretty great SF convention in Toronto, which included Yuri's night events: a showing of a short film about Gagarin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5-130l_MYo), then a dance party (though it was actually the convention's usual dance, with a DJ playing lame classic rock and '80's tracks, much of which were undanceable).

I definitely recommend speaking your mind because who frankly, people are too damn sensitive these days. On the other hand, probably don't want to combine that with writing report cards! ;)

I wish you'd posted what it was that he said!

It was advertised as being a rave, but it was just a very calm house party. I expected to arrive at a loft with a dance floor and crazyness going on, but it was calm and chill..which is normally EXACTLY what I like! Normally I *don't* like the crazy parties. But it's what I was expecting and what I was in the mood for, ya know?
The decorations and many of the costumes were AWESOME and they had good food. It was set up in a really cool way, and I honestly don't think I have anything bad to say about it...just not what I was in the mood for that night, and not what I was expecting.

Omg I agree WAY too much about the people being too sensitive. I can't STAND people like that. In fact, that's one of the ways I 'test' people out when I meet them; if they're too sensitive, I know they're not people I want to be friends with, because I don't like people like that, and we wouldn't get along anyway.
I DO think I should speak my mind more often, but I'm trying to find a good balance, because if I said EVERYTHING that was on my mind, well...things would be bad. I'm a verrrryyyyy judgmental person, I can't help it! It's just the way I am. ^^;;;

Hahaha well, it wasn't much yesterday, I just meant in general. But yesterday while I was on LJ he got mad at all the talk about trying to get that arts centre off the ground in Verdun, and he said, "This will NOT work in Verdun! People in Verdun want drugs, not art." And then he took out his Gameboy and ranted for a good ten minutes. (I was tuning in and out.) At one point he was even ranting about Geena Davis, I kid you not.

But yeah. When I think of example of Mike saying things that everyone thinks but no one admits, I'll post about it! ;)
