I'm home alone and even though I should be lesson-planning, I decided to see if I could watch the last 5 minutes of the Lost finale without crying. (I haven't seen it since it originally aired.) It didn't work! Haha. Now I can't stop sniffing and blowing my nose. Omg. What a work of art the last few minutes are, holy crap.

Anyway, what I want to know is ...what was your favourite part of the finale? Which part did you think was the saddest?

Is anyone, anyone at all going to argue that Vincent laying down with Jack as he died is the most heart-breaking moment of the entire episode? (If not in the entire series? lol)

Vincent laying down was sad, but James and Juliet's goodbye at the bottom of the pit was heart wrenching.

Favourite moment...Lapidus showing up/"in case you didn't notice, I'm a pilot". Saddest moment...oh god. For me, it was Claire remembering who Charlie was as she was giving birth. I love them so much together and it was just so "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sniffle sniffle!"

Aw man, that WAS sad, but I found it way sadder when she was still alive and Sawyer was trying to stop her from getting pulled down the hole. I didn't even like Juliet and I found that so, so hard to watch, the 2 of them bawling at each other.....ARGHHHH OMG. I wished he could have just cut the chains off and saved her. THAT SCENE IS TOO HARSH. :( :( :( :( :(

Claire giving birth and remembering Charlie is the FIRST thing I think of when I hear "Of Mice and Ben", pointe finale. GOOSEBUMPS LIKE CRAZY. I loved them together as a couple, and it always hurt so much that they never had much time together on the Island.
They more than deserve to get to spend eternity together. :')

(Omg, writing this made me feel so gooey and emo! Aawww. haha)

The plane taking off from the Hydra Island. The music alone makes the scene. The Sawyer and Juliet realization scene is up there too (along with the rest of the episode).

Jack dying next to Vincent is sad but at the same time you see him all happy in the sideways so it's a bit easier to bear.

Remember after when she was pulled out, but just before she died she said "It worked"? I thought that was a bit odd, but she said the exact same words in the finale and it was likely her consciousness shifted to the future when she was saying that in the present kinda like what was happening to Charlotte except hers had gone backwards in time.

I only really liked the exchanges with Hurley and Ben, honestly. I really liked when Ben tells him to do what he does best and Hurley is crying. I liked even better when Hurley invites him into the church and Ben just stays out in the dark, because those actors are just so sweet together and I like how opposite their characters are.

I didn't cry at any point in the finale because I am heartless wench. I actually loathe the part with Vincent because I felt so damn manipulated at that point, el oh el. I guess also I expected him to be there, so it wasn't really caught up in the moment.

Yup, she was referring to the vending machine when she said that. :)

You're right, you see him all happy in the SU...but he's DEAD. So it makes it easier to bear, but at the same time, it's kind of sadder...I don't know, these kinds of things are really hard to explain.

I didn't cry during the finale because I was watching it with 7 other people and I didn't want to cry in front of them so I waited until later, lol. I tend to do that when watching sad TV shows with other people.

Every single time I rewatch scenes from the finale, I start sobbing and blowing nose even after watching those scenes a dozen times. This almost NEVER happens when I watch other TV shows.

That's not an issue! I don't cry in front of other people either.

I am weird, I think maybe from film school? Because I get hypersensitive to having my emotions manipulated, so when I am watching something (particular things that are supposed to make you sad) and I keep going, "Am I really feeling this or are they bringing out all the tricks?" through an entire scene. When I am really feeling something though it's like I lost a family member I cry so hard (for LOST this season Dr. Linus, I thought I was having a breakdown, el oh ellllllllllll).

I've never cried at any TV show the way I've cried at Lost, with the exception of a certain serial-drama cartoon that I loved when I was in high school ...;)

Oh, and the BSG finale. :P

Wait, now I'm confused.

How can someone "trick" you into being sad? Either the images in front of you make you feel upset...or they don't.
