What a weekend!
Feb. 21st, 2010 10:54 amSeriously! What a weekend, OMG.
It started on Friday when I had my observation at school. A lady from the schoolboard commission came to observe me teaching my classes to see what I do and how I teach and how I plan, etc. Then I took the afternoon off to meet with her so we could discuss how things went and what I can do to improve. She told me all kinds of wonderful ways I can fix up my lesson plans and gave me all kinds of amazing ideas.
She also told me that I don't seem like a first-year teacher. She told me that she's seen people teaching for 20 years that don't seem as comfortable and natural as I do. o_O She said that it was obvious that the students love me, and that I'm dynamic and motivating to be around...not just for the students, but for her, too! And while she was complimenting me, my principal walked in to ask how it's going and so she started complimenting me all over again. My principal was smiling and agreeing (she's observed me before too) and said how lucky the school was to have me. I started blushing like crazy and said, "No, no, it's ME who's lucky to be working HERE!" and they just kept complimenting me. I felt so overwhelmed that it started to feel a bit awkward and I really wanted them to stop after awhile. I was getting so red in the face, haha. I was in such a daze after...so happy and flattered...but it's all so overwhelming!
Then I went to Pierrefonds to spend the weekend with Tekt and his fiancee, and it was just wonderful. He had set up an entire video game competition that lasted until midnight last night. Mike joined us last night too and also joined in the competition. It was crazy---we competed in games on the Wii, Ps2, Sega Genesis, NES, and SNES...I lost by a landslide, lol, but it was SO much fun, it was ridiculous. Omg. We also took breaks to watch Angry Video Game Nerd, play with their dog, and pig out on chips, pizza, and brownies. I can't even begin to describe how much fun I had. Or how much I love Tekt & T. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. They are seriously some of my very favourite people in the whole world. It's all so lovely. :)
