The Princess & the Frog was good. Nothing special story-wise, and lacking in the FUNNY department, but whatever. We all know the real reason I went to see it was for the animation, and in THAT aspect, I wasn't the least bit disappointed. :) I hope Disney keeps the hand-drawn stuff coming. It was so wonderful to see it again, the movie was just beautiful. You GOTTA see this stuff on the big-screen, ya know? It REALLY looked like the French Quarter in New Orleans. I evem recognized a place that Mike and I took a photo in front of. XD It makes me want to go back to Nola so badly!
Also, the character designs were terrific, for the most part. The one that stands out in my mind the most, by a longshot, was the villain, and his pals. Very, very cool stuff. And that's an understatement.
I'm so excited because I just came across a bunch of b-sides to the RANMA singles! Good old Ranma. OMG. That means b-sides by such 80s goodness as CoCo, YAWMIN, Yoshie Hayasaka, and the singer of the Ranma theme itself...Etsuko Nishio! Do you know what this means?! The b-side of Jajauma ni Sasenaide. It's called Hen na Koi and I used to have it as a very fuzzy, muffled .au file back in the mid 90s. I was looking for an mp3 of it ever since, which has proved to be quite difficult as the single has been out of print for about, oh I dunno, well over 13 years now. It's really, really, REALLY exciting to finally come across a song you've been looking for for over a decade, lemme tell you. :D

Date: 2009-12-23 12:25 am (UTC)To be honest, the rest of his other movies I've seen were either pretty bad (All Dogs Go to Heaven) or just downright awful (Cock-a-Doodle), and then there's a whole bunch of others that he did (The Pebble & The Penguin) that I never saw but want to.
Oh, but wait! Titan AE! That was GOOD. It's on TV fairly often, and Mike and I usually watch it when it is. :) (The only problem with that movie is its completely out-of-place use of CGI! Omg...)
Secret of NIMH is just such an absolutely amazing, amazing movie. OMFG. I've actually forgotten about it somehow. I haven't seen it in well over a decade. I think...I think I must rent it! OMG! Thank you for reminding me about it!!! :D
