Friends-cut! Ugh, how I hate announcing these...things! I dunno, lol.
If you got cut but prefer I hadn't cut you, please let me know.

In completely other news, anyone here ever go to Cine-Express? I went there last night and it was AWESOME. Everything about it rocks--the food, the prices, the atmosphere, the layout, the service...even the bathrooms were pretty cool. I'd only been there once before, when I was 19 years old and dating this 27-year-old guy from Tokyo who told me daily how much he hated Montreal and thought it was odd that I didn't drink alcohol at the time. I remember him sitting next to me at a table there and saying, "You do not drink? You are still child!"
We had completely different ideas of what dating meant, and constant disagreements on everything. This was due to our ridiculous age difference and ridiculous culture clashing. Things ended with a huge fight and me drawing a picture of his plane crashing on his way back to Tokyo.
Annnnnnnnnd that was how things went with the first guy I dated ever.

I've tried to find him on Facebook but to no avail.

ANYWAY. Drew's coming over tonight for what will be a cozy but no doubt CRAZY night in. ;) Mwahahah. I can't wait! ^____^

I love Cine-Express! They used to have X-Files marathons on the big screen. Best thing, it's open 24 hrs. Hey, if you want to go see Precious together some time soon...it's playing at the AMC and we could grab a bite at Cine-Express.

I'll find out asap (in the next day or two). We might have a dinner party next week (ugh, DNW) and I don't know the precise day. I'll ask him when he gets his ass out of bed! :)

The first guy I kissed was this bisexual from Kirkland. We went to Clydes for a beer and went back to my place and hes was like "Lets fuck" and I said "But we just met!" (I was not aware of the HOOKUP CULTURE at that time!)

After about half an hour of trying to convince me, we kissed in my kitchen (No one else was home). He still wanted some play and I ended up giving him a blowjob and drove him home.

He didnt respond to my calls after that, and I did like him, but I guess he just wanted to get laid. :(

no cut pls

The day I cut you is the day that I stop loving Lost. Or something. (I'm feeling too many after effects from the h1n1o1k1l1c1 shot right now to think of something more relevant, logical and/or witty.) :P

WTF?! You two know each other??!?!?!?
Considering she lives in the American south and you're a fellow Montrealer, this is REALLY FRAKKING WEIRD.

(We know each other from [livejournal.com profile] wtf_inc, to answer your question.)

That man sounds like a dick, but I kind of love how it ended with a picture of his plane crashing. Did you give it to him?

Also, I didn't really start drinking til I was 19. I mean, I drank, but it wasn't very often or anything. Then I discovered that there was a bar right across from Dawson. A cheap bar. With pool tables. The semester I discovered that, I failed 3 of my classes. :(

The guy wasn't *too* bad, and trust me, I did my share of being pretty selfish, lol. But--I was 19! And it was my first time dating anyone and I seriously was really really clueless about a lot of it. He was 27 and going after a 19-year-old, so I think that in itself cancels out any immaturity on my part, haha. ;)
And no, I never gave him my picture; I drew it after our fight, lol.

The semester I discovered that, I failed 3 of my classes. :(

I hope you don't take this too badly, but I lol'd when I read that. :( I'm sorry! It's not funny that you failed your classes. It's just the way you worded that sentence. ;)

lol it's okay, it actually was sort of funny at the time. I'd just discovered Tryx and had a whole new group of friends, so I was skipping loads of classes. I'm amazed I didn't get kicked out, actually! Also, at the same time period, I was 18 and dating a guy who was 25 or 26. He thought it was weird that I had to let my parents know where I was. I'm all for age differences, but there's something about one of the people being still a teen and the other being in their late 20's that just doesn't work!

REACTION TWINS. I think we are both shocked right now. I know her as a mod on lj 4chan. I don't comment there much right now, just lurk but I'm creepy like that.

Slightly sad about the cut, but totally understand. No worries.

That bar car really be hit or miss! I like the pitchers of mixed girly drinks, but the last time I was there, there was absolutely no booze in them, it took over a half hour to get served, and a good hour to get more drinks... When we decided it was time to leave, we had our coats on by the cash for a good half hour again - since we had no luck for a good solid half hour trying to flag down the rather unoccupied waitress.

Then she cursed us out for tipping her less than 10%. Sorry, tipping, is only for actual service.

Yes, agreed completely. Teenagers and people in their late 20s are at COMPLETELY different points in their lives. No matter how much the older one tries to justify it ("Oh, but they're so mature!" or whatever), it's very very very very very unlikely it's going to work out.
I think back to my time with Tokyo Guy, and I feel a little frustrated when I recall how angry he'd get with me sometimes. It's like, no. You CHOSE to get involved with someone who's almost a decade younger than you and has no experience in this stuff whatsoever. You don't get to complain. You gotta be patient--super patient.
And seeing as you dated someone in their 20s when you were just 18, I'm sure you know exactly what I mean. :)

Oh no! I felt very yucky when I read this. :(
I'm so sorry! I can totally add you back if you want. I cut you because we never ever chat, I really don't know anything about you and I never read your LJ, because we absolutely have nothing in common. When I find myself skipping past someone's entries every single time and we never communicate, I usually end up cutting them. But if you want to read my LJ I'll totally add you back. I'm really sorry if I offended you! :(
Throughout my years on LJ, there *have* been people I've cut because I genuinely didn't like them, but you are certainly and absolutely NOT one of those people!

WHAT?! WTF is with servers who pull this shit? Who the hell do they think they are?
I had a similar experience with a nasty, bitchy waitress at McKibbons this summer. Not only did I ask to see the manager, I insisted she come with me to see him.
I ended up getting a $25 gift certificate, so I was pretty happy in the end with that, lol.

tipping, is only for actual service.

Yes, THIS.

Although my grammar sucks. Ugh. Inappropriate use of commas! I remember your McKibbons story from this summer, and it has definitely played into my choice not to go there lately.

I'm all for tipping when service is anywhere from adequate to outstanding, but you don't leave your patrons thirsty! In any case, I won't be going back to Cine Express.

Hey! Really don't worry about it! I'm not on LJ all that often anyway, but I was enjoying reading yours every now and then. Would you like me to defriend you? I don't want to be weird and stalkerish; just say the word. You didn't offend me, don't worry. :)

Ah, I didn't know you read mine. If you want to read it, I'll just add you back since more and more of my posts are friends-only these days.

Ah, I'm sorry to make things so awkward! XD
I suck at this! LMAO

Sorry about all this, honestly!

Date: 2009-12-08 05:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bee-york.livejournal.com
Oh I agree completely. Even if service is just kinda "meh", I'll tip them anyway, for sure!
But non-service is non-tips, imho. "You don't leave your patrons thirsty"--I agree! You don't leave your patrons angry or insulted, either. ;)
