Moving and starting a new job at the same time is so exhausting and draining. I knew months ago that I was going to have to juggle both of them, but now that the time's actually come...eeeeeek. At least I don't have much to pack in this tiny apartment, ha. I can't wait until we're in the new one, that'll be one more huge stress off my back.
I start my new job tomorrow, but I don't get the students for another week. Yup, that's one whole week of meetings and assemblies! Pretty crazy, huh? But I'm REALLY glad as it gives me time to figure out the school's layout (it's literally the size of a shopping mall) and meet some of the staff. It also gives me a week to lesson-plan. I pretty much have to start from scratch since I've never really taught high school before, unless you count my internships. (I *do* have some work leftover from those that I can use, thankfully!) I'm so excited about starting. Oh, the joys of working a job you actually LIKE! It makes all the difference in the world, to not dread the end of your vacation. I don't want to spend my life counting down to Friday every week.
Of course, just because I'm excited for my new job to start doesn't mean I'm happy that summer is ending! I've had an awesome summer, and having gotten to spend it in the McGill Ghetto is a REALLY nice touch, to put it mildly. Oh, all the festivals and late-night walks home, not having to worry about night buses or taxies or catching the last metro home...PRICELESS.
And oh, the adventures I've had with
oo_maya_oo! I LOVE THAT CHICK SO MUCH. <3
