I had a WONDERFUL night with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] phoenixblur chatting, drinking, watching Family Guy, and even playing some good old Nintendo. <3 Not so cool, however? Having an allergic reaction to BREAD, of all things! Luckily it was only the last half-hour or so that Steph was over so it didn't cut into our night too much, but my eyes started to feel really itchy around midnight. At first I thought it was my make-up rubbing off into my eyes so I washed my make-up off, but then my whole face started to itch, and then my hands a little, too. I took some benadryl, then Steph left and Mike and I were watching Seinfeld and my face felt like it was burning. I got really nervous, which always makes things SO much worse. Anyone here reading this who was anaphalactic allergies know that feeling? You get so scared and it just adds to the reaction and it can be hard to tell if you're short of breath from fear or if it's part of the allergic reaction, aaaaaaaaugh. Anyway, I was worried so I took even MORE benadryl (combined with the rum I had been drinking all night I ended up with quiiiiite a buzz within a half hour or so!). :P

Luckily all that benadryl seemed to be enough; the reaction didn't get any worse and I felt OK by the end of the night, but I'm very surprised. I had bought a loaf of rye sesame bread earlier that evening and on the bag, it said "may contain nuts" but I thought it just said that because it was proccessed in a place where they also made nutty things and they couldn't guarantee anything, and I'd be safe because c'mon, it's BREAD. But obviously I made the wrong choice. I have got to be even MORE careful with food. Ugh, allergies! Aren't they just the WORST?!
